El décimo Simposio Mundial para la Música Coral tendrá lugar este año entre el 6 y el 13 de agosto en Seúl, ciudad del Corea del Sur. Organizado cada tres años bajo el auspicio de la Federación Internacional para la Música Coral, el Simposio es un particular encuentro de los más prestigiosos coros y directores corales. El tema elegido para esta edición es "Salud y Juventud".
La participación venezolana se hará sentir en tres intervenciones durante el ciclo de conferencias, con los maestros Freddy Miranda, Cristian Grases y María Guinand disertando en sendos temas de su especialidad y de un amplio espectro de interés: Freddy Miranda hablará (y seguramente demostrará) acerca de "La percusión en la música coral", Cristian Grases presentará su trabajo acerca de las particularidades de la música barroca en Latinoamérica y María Guinand hablará sobre el repertorio latinoamericano para coros de voces iguales; esta última intervención va de la mano de la nueva adición al catálogo de partituras Verlag "Makumbebé II" y del CD que acompaña dicha edición, grabado por la Cantoría Alberto Grau.
