Dear friends,
It is my pleasure to introduce you to the next generation of the Schola Cantorum de Venezuela Foundation. They are the Schola Juvenil de Venezuela, our Foundation very own youth choir, conducted by Luimar Arismendi.
The Schola Juvenil was created in 2006, as a follow-up initiative to the Constuir Cantando (Build Through Singing) program promoted and supported by the Schola Cantorum de Venezuela Foundation. Since then, the group has significantly grown both, in quality and number, and it has participated in numerous national and international projects, performing with tremendous success in the most prestigious venues in Venezuela, Colombia, France and Sweden.
This summer, our young singers have been invited to participate in three important European festivals: the prestigious Europa Cantat Festival in Pécs (Hungary), the Cant Coral International Festival in Barcelona (Spain) and the Choralp Festival in Briançon (France).
In addition to these festivals the Schola Juvenil will take part in its first international competition at the renowned International Music Festival of Cantonigrós, as well as other concerts in Catalonia.
The cost of this project for each singer is approximately EUR 4,105.00. This amount includes airfare Caracas/Madrid/Barcelona/Madrid/Caracas, festivals registration, local travel in Europa, lodging, food and additional per diem. So far, we have been able to raise EUR 1969.00 per singer through corporate partnerships and institutional savings, leaving EUR 2136.00 per singer that still need to be covered.
It is for this reason that we are reaching out to all our big choral community, friends, contacts and anybody that'd appreciate our work and would be willing to support us for this project.
Are you willing to help these youngsters?
This link will take you to the PayPal account in which you’ll be able to support our project wherever you are and help us continue our work, as well as opening so many paths to these and many other teenagers and children that keep coming to us despite the current circumstances.
If you can help us, we will find the best and most enthusiastic way to thank you for your support. If you can’t right now, we are sure there will be another time. In the meantime, please share and disseminate this call between your own circle.
Big hugs,
Andres Ferrer
Coordinator
