Welcome Choirs! Dear Friends of Choral Music! Welcome to Rimini, the capital of hospitality and culture! It gives me great pleasure to organize a new edition of the ‘City of Rimini International Choral Competition’ (RICC2015), which will take place from 24 to 27 September 2015. Choral music, especially in the last few years, has improved In quality thanks to the precious and tireless contribution of thousands of supporters. It is no longer a subject for only a niche audience but, on the contrary, has gained an important place in the musical field. The aim of the Choral Competition is not only to have groups competing against one another, but also to present to the audience the characteristics and diversities of each choir and repertoire. The event will take place in the beautiful setting of this ancient Roman city, well-known for the beauty of its beaches and rich in monuments from a splendid past. I shall be happy to welcome you to Rimini to celebrate together the beauties of music and friendship. Dr. Andrea Angelini, PhD Artistic Director of the Competition http://www.riminichoral.it/the-artistic-director/ The Sung Service at the Church of St. Agostino is one of the most intensive moment of the Competition. This church is worth visiting for various reasons; the architecture of the large auditorium was transformed with precious stuccoes, ancones and frescoes in the 17th and 18th centuries, although the general structure and its tall bell tower date from the 13th century. Enrolments and requested documents for the Rimini International Choral Competition must be sent by the Entry e-Form before the 31 May 2015 at the latest. Your choir will sing in front of these experts: Ko Matsushita, Vytautas Miškinis, Graham Lack, Ivo Antognini, Fabio Pecci and Francisco José Carbonell. The choir who won last edition 2014 in the Cathegory X - Grand Prix of 5.000 Euros- was the Coro de Niños de San Juan, children's choir from Puerto Rico, directed by Maestro Pablo Casals.
