Community Sing with María Guinand

Described by Artistic Director Grant Gershon as the “Mother Teresa” of the choral world, Ms. Guinand is recognized as one of the most influential choral conductors on the scene today. She has worked internationally alongside artistic luminaries such as John Adams, Peter Sellars, Helmuth Rilling, Alberto Grau, Simon Rattle and Gustavo Dudamel, among many others.

The Program

Introduction from LAMC Artistic Director Grant Gershon and talk with Ms. Guinand

Construir Cantando, a 15 minute film about the "El Sistema-like" choral program created by Ms. Guinand.


Participants will also learn and sing two South American choral pieces, prepared and conducted by María Guinand herself.

Reception and discussion with Ms. Guinand at the conclusion.
